    Join thousands of Fort Worth residents for the largest litter cleanup of the year — the 32nd annual Cowtown Great American Cleanup.

    Any Fort Worth location in need of cleaning is eligible as a cleanup site for the Cowtown Cleanup. Sign up to clean a greenbelt, a park, a roadway or any area of your choosing. For groups or individuals not sure where to go, consider joining an experienced group leader at one of the 10 prearranged Join-A-Group cleanup sites.

It’s the 24th annual Party in Fort Worth, benefiting the Fort Worth Promotion and Development Fund. For its 24TH PARTY IN FORT WORTH, The Fort Worth Promotion and Development Fund honors the dynamic businesses that help make FORT WORTH the great city she is!

    “FortWorthopoly” is the theme for this year’s party planned for March 4, 2017 at 7:00PM at the Fort Worth Convention Center. The architectural firm of Bennett Benner Partners and the engineers at Dunaway Associates are hosts of this year’s party. Michael Bennett and Tom Galbreath are event co-chairs.

    This year’s party honors the dynamic businesses that help make Fort Worth a great city. It will be a night to connect and celebrate; a night to be grateful and generous; a night to relax and kick up your heels.

    The Party in Fort Worth is an annual event benefiting the Fort Worth Promotion and Development Fund. The fund, which is governed by a 13-member board, invests funds to promote Fort Worth before regional, national and international cultural, business, sports and governmental organizations. The Promotion Fund also provides resources for the development of local events, attractions and exhibits that enhance Fort Worth’s ability to recruit business and leisure visitors.

  7. Master Composter Classes

    Event Starts: February 09, 2017

    From the basics of backyard composting to the science behind it, the Master Composter Class empowers participants to teach others about composting.The Master Composter class is part of a statewide program — currently managed by the State of Texas Alliance for Recycling (STAR) — to decrease dependence on synthetic fertilizers in favor of organic recycling.

    The City of Fort Worth offers the three-day class twice a year. Volunteer hours involving teaching others the principals of backyard composting are required to receive the title of "Master Composter." Class graduates can complete the hours on their own or through city organized opportunities.

    Participants will receive:

      • Training from nationally renowned instructor Larry Wilhelm
      • Rodale Book of Composting
      • C.E. Shepherd Compost Bin (for participants who attend all three days)

      • Thursday, Feb. 9: 6-9 p.m.; Botanic Garden Center, Azalea Room, 3220 Botanic Garden Blvd.
      • Friday, Feb. 10: 6-9 p.m.; Botanic Garden Center, Azalea Room, 3220 Botanic Garden Blvd.
      • Saturday, Feb. 11: 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m.; Botanic Garden Greenhouse, 3408 W. Freeway.

    Registration Deadline: Feb. 1, 2017

    Cost: $40 ($55 for non-Fort Worth residents)
    Spouses may attend for an additional $20, but the couple must share supplies.
